No "Stop Caring" This Month
No funny subtitle. This is serious.

No new article this month.
In truth, the commitment of keeping up with an article a month while juggling work, relationships, activism and just general life kinda got to me. I feel burnt out and exhausted. It's hard enough to write, to pour my soul and love unto essays about my favorite art form, without the state of the world being what it is.
A lot of these feelings are compounded with an unfortunate decision I had to make out of my own volition.
I will no longer be working for Superjump. After my piece on Promise Mascot Agency comes out, that will be the end of my association with them.
It is not at all a reflection of the wonderful editors and writers behind the magazine. I leave amicably and with no ill will...except for...well...
The reason why I am leaving is because there's a genocide denier in the roster.
I, despite my snarky writing tone, am actually never ignorant enough to believe I am right all the time. Especially when it comes to politics. I am always willing to learn from others and try to find compromise. But, there's a difference between differing political opinions and lacking a consensus on reality.
It actually makes me feel crazy that despite the fact we are witnessing the most televised and documented genocide in history, there are still those who believe there is no genocide in Gaza. We are drip fed constant atrocities done by the criminal IDF on our phones. Palestinian men, women and children are being massacred, journalists are being purposely targeted, and Israel has made clear what they want to do with the Palestinian land and its people – they even use genocidal rhetoric, speaking of "final solutions" and "the Palestinian problem". To deny what is happening in Palestine, is to deny reality. To deny there's a genocide happening now, is to propagate a system of thought that allows it.
As much as I believe in healthy debate and conversation, there are certain groups of people who are not worth arguing with: fascists, zionists and TERFs. I, as a matter of principle, refuse to work with people that follow these cadres.
To speak plainly: if there's a genocide denier writing for Superjump, then I no longer feel comfortable writing for them.
As a trans woman, I understand that my oppression is linked with oppression of Palestinians. I will never be free until Palestine is free. None of us will be if Israel can continue their genocide with impunity.
Regardless, I want to state clearly: the team behind Superjump is a diverse group of people, coming from different cultural backgrounds. I can assure you that this writer is an outlier: most of the team believes in Palestinian liberation...or at least I would like to believe that.
I'm going to take some time off from writing.
This is not the end of "...Or How I Learned To Stop Caring".
Next month I will be back with a piece about Killer7 and how it explores the boundaries of personal and geopolitical violence. There's actually some exciting stuff I'm working on behind the scenes. You might even see a name other than my own in this website soon. You might see an interview with the man behind Nubby's Number Factory (which was originally intended for Superjump).
For now, I'll sign off with this:
Free Palestine.
Take care of yourselves and please: be good people.
